Normally, we advise you to have only one custom dictionary, and set its language to “no language” so that it can accept words from text marked in any language.
Your problem is either you have set the custom dictionary to have a language, and your text is not in that language, or the text you are working on is in a language you do not have installed. If it’s in a language you don’t have, Word can’t add it to the dictionary so it greys out the command. Thanks for your feedback. How satisfied are you with this reply? Thanks for your feedback, it helps us improve the site. Additional to John’s comments, it’s possible that you do not have a Custom Dictionary established or that what you have is corrupt.
