The vocal processing is what I love most, it has good vocal processing. The mixing and mastering template is so much better and easier to understand for an upcoming producer. Cubase can be difficult for someone who has not done audio editing previously; will be a learning curve. Can get real slow on startup maybe my mac is getting old also. Not ideal for performing live music. Read all user reviews. With built in score functionality, and endless editing options, overall, this is by far the best music production software out there.

I really appreciate how Logic can import your Garageband files – If you’ve been working in Garageband and are looking to upgrade, this is the best option for being able to work with those files. The metering is fantastic for mixing and mastering, the recording and comping features are fantastic for a recording workflow, there’s a lot of great stock plugins included, it’s easy to understand and get started with, and the production side of things is great too!

It also comes with fantastic synths like alchemy , retro synth, and a tonne more that are exclusive to Apple. While the audio editing controls aren’t as in-depth as we’d like, it’s still awesome for recordings, with a very simple and easy to use interface.

Any professional studio can easily use Logic Pro as the center for all of their audio tracks, plugins, and the rest of the studio. Logic Pro X From manipulating your audio tracks, to incredible instruments, and tons of utility, Logic Pro nails a lot of the thing it sets out to do.

While we won’t be able to cover all of the awesome plugins and awesome features of Logic, Let’s look at what we think Logic does the best. Logic Pro X comes with arguably the best selection of, stock instruments, FX and mixing utilities. You get multiple instruments, including 2 samplers, vintage emulations, retro synths, as well as the incredible Alchemy synthesizer.

Logic Pro X features an overwhelming 70GB of drag and drop content , to use in your music. From vintage synths, to cinematic drops and an entire orchestra section, the Logic Pro X sound library leaves little to be desired. The Apple Loops integration also gives you access to a ton more samples and loops to use in your music. Using Live Loops is an alternative to the usual linear view of logic pro, but both are interlinked.

Using Live Loops you can create on-the-fly arrangements, as well as full live performances, which you can record directly into the Track View. Flex Editing includes both, Flex Time and Flex Pitch, which let you instantly manipulate the timings and pitches of individual notes in any audio track. A quick and easy way to correct mistakes in recordings, or alter them entirely, Flex Editing makes audio manipulation in Logic Pro X better than it used to be.

The Logic Pro Remote, available for all iOS devices, can turn your phone or tablet, into a multi-touch mixer and touch instrument. From controlling live-loops, to adjusting levels from the other side of your studio, the Logic Remote app is one of the most awesome features of Logic Pro.

As with any other DAWs, Logic has a lot of positives, as well as some negatives. While everything has it’s drawbacks, these DAWs are usually so well designed, that any cons that come with it are mostly just nit-picking.

That being said, there are some very valid drawbacks for Logic Pro X, which can be a deal-breaker to some people, in which case, Logic won’t be for you. Additionally, if you want to use the Logic Remote, you’ll also need an Apple phone or tablet. Especially, when you’ve got a lot of plugins and edits and processing in your project. That being said, Logic Pro X isn’t the only DAW that crashes, but the frustration of having to halt your creative process is real, and might be too annoying to deal with for some people.

While the recent additions of Flex editing and the new samplers have improved the Logic Pro editing workflow, it’s still not up to par with other DAW’s, like Cubase and Ableton Live. There are so many variables components, processors, RAM, etc. You must log in or register to reply here. And while workflow is individual, it is the difference between getting your projects done faster without friction or frustration, and not. Logic Pro has got a great interface. Onscreen elements boast great separation with a great use of colors , and this makes for an effective, user-friendly experience.

As with Pro Tools, Logic Pro has also established itself as an industry standard and is well used in a variety of professional studios, especially those running primarily on Mac computers.

Regardless of project or genre, Logic Pro can handle just about anything you throw at it, and you can create professional products with it too. Samplers, drum synth, drum machine designer, drum kit designer, Studio Strings, Studio Brass, ES2 synth, retro synth, vintage keyboards B3, electric piano, clav, mellotron , Sculpture physical modeling synth, ChromaVerb, vintage EQs graphic, tube, and console , compressor, Amp Designer, Ringshifter, and so much more….

From vintage to modern, there are plenty of virtual instruments and effects to enjoy. Logic Pro is a great DAW, and it is even used in a variety of professional studio settings. It is the go-to solution for Mac users wanting to record and produce music professionally. That said, no DAW is perfect. Depending on who you ask, there are different things about a DAW that drive them nuts.

This one is completely understandable. We also think 90 days is quite generous. Obviously, this depends a lot on how much power you need. Logic Pro has the basics covered. You can still get your editing work done.

Again, this is a complaint that could apply to a lot of DAWs. Audio recording and editing can be quite processor intensive, and this means that DAW freezes and crashes are more commonplace than you might expect. That said, we know where people are coming from on this. For the most part, Macs tend to be more stable than PCs, with fewer random glitches, and less of a need to restart as frequently in my experience, though, you still need to restart Macs occasionally. Cubase is one of those DAWs whose reputation precedes it, in no small part due to name and brand recognition.

Separate hype from fact, though, and you are still left with what is fundamentally a powerful MIDI sequencing and editing tool, which makes Cubase the go-to choice for producers like Zedd and many composers whose names you would surely recognize more on this later. Versatile enough to handle all project types thanks to a customizable workflow but specialized enough to meet the demands of the most demanding electronic producers and composers, Cubase has a lot to offer music producers cut from any cloth.
